CREATE-MIA trainees will have the opportunity to spend the day with our industrial partners.
The first part of the day will be spent listening to presentations by the industrial partners which will touch on topics such as:
- How the company got started and how it grew
- Its mission statement
- Vision for future growth
- How the company is connected to its community (i.e. corporate social responsibility)
- Organizational structure
- Ongoing projects
- Openings/projects for 2016 internships along with the skills required
After a networking lunch, students and industrial partners will break up into small groups to discuss which skills are particularly prized in the medical imaging industry.
The day will end with a group discussion. The proposed topic is the MNI’s recent announcement that work there will conform to the principles of ‘open science’ and that any results, data, software, algorithms, etc. will be made freely available at the time of publication (http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2016/01/montreal-institute-going-open-accel-erate-science)
The location of the event is Room 267 in the MacDonald Engineering Building (location 5 on http://virtualcampustour.mcgill.ca/en/search?keyword=macdonald)
