NSERC CREATE Program in Medical Image Analysis
The purpose of the NSERC Collaborative Research and Training Experience Program in Medical Image Analysis (CREATE-MIA), industrial stream, is to help new researchers transition into the workforce. It gives its trainees opportunities to acquire professional skills and on-the-job experience in industry while participating in leading-edge research in an area considered to be of top priority for Canada's future.
CREATE-MIA trainees are trained for careers in both industry and academia using a collaborative and multi-faceted approach including:
- a selection of advanced courses from different academic departments and universities to provide a comprehensive background in medical imaging
- on-site internships with our industrial partners to give first-hand real-world industry experience
- the opportunity to broaden knowledge of medical imaging by attending seminars from leading researchers
- a diverse set of talks and workshops intended to help develop professional and technical skills which usually fall outside the scope of academic programs
- the opportunity to build professional networks
